About Us
Located on Fort Belvoir, Virginia, there are approximately 6,000 employees who work to support the mission of the Warfighter at the Headquarters Complex (HQC).
The HQC consists of four major agencies:
DLA: Defense Logistics Agency
DTRA: Defense Threat Reduction Agency
DCAA: Defense Contracting Auditing Agency
DTIC: Defense Technical Information Center
The agencies comprise of Department of Defense employees, contractors, military family members and retirees. Active, Guard and Reserve military (all services) represent approximately 7% of the HQC’s population though 43% of the workforce consists of U.S. veterans. The HQC boasts a sprawling cafeteria, fitness center, credit union, snack bars, barber shop, and meditation room.

Child & Youth
The Child and Youth Program (CYP) provides quality child care, promoting children’s development in a safe, nurturing environment.
Family Programs
The DLA Family Program team integrates service members and their families with support services that emphasize family readiness and resilience. The core functional areas of operation are:
Family Advocacy, Deployment Readiness, Emergency Family Assistance, Relocation Readiness, and Information and Referral.
Fitness & Sports
Physical fitness, designated by DLA supports Warfighters, DoD civilians, families in building strength, and promoting wellness.
Food & Beverage
Family and MWR offers fresh food, great service, and inviting spaces across our locations.
Recreation & Leisure
There’s work, and then there’s PLAY. No matter what your hobby may be, Family and MWR has a recreational or leisure activity for you.
